What is trance?
Trance or Hypnosis is a deeply relaxed, natural state, where our internal resistance and worries are withheld, and we are able to refocus and narrow our attention on the present moment and on the outcomes we would like to achieve.
In this relaxed, trance state we are more open to suggestions to enable us to take action and create changes in our life, and achieve the things we wish to achieve.
Will I lose control during
No. During hypnosis you will always remain in control and be able to choose what you do or don’t want to think or believe. You will not be controlled. Trance is an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable experience, with most clients saying it the favourite part of the session.
Is Hypnosis safe?
Completely! Every night before you fall asleep, you fall into a trance like state. When you experience hypnosis you are always in full control of what is going on. You are still able to use your mind and move your body freely. The hypnotherapist simply guides the participant into a relaxed and calm state that allows access to the subconscious mind.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions required is totally person and problem dependent. Hypnotherapy has a very high success rate and will start to help an individual as quickly as possible. In some cases (for example specific fears or phobias) three or four sessions might be all that is required, whilst with other more generalised problems such as anxiety, it may take up to or over 12.
Sessions are client led, and I will aim to discern a rough estimate of number of sessions, however it could change as changes are made within the individual.
